
Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances Rewrite 2025

The County is currently within an eighteen-month long journey to update their zoning ordinances and subdivision ordinance to modernize them and make them more user friendly and easier to navigate. This effort will utilize a heavy amount of public engagement to align land use regulations with community values, legal requirements and future growth goals. Use the links below to be a part of this effort by reviewing draft documents, submitting comments, and seeing when the latest public meetings are taking place to get involved!

County Staff and the Planning Team anticipate the meeting schedule below for the Zoning Ordinances Rewrite project. Milestone dates include the following:
​Month 4 – Wednesday October 1st - Advisory Committee Kickoff Meeting
(then generally planned for every other month)
Months 4/5 – Virtual stakeholder interviews
Month 5 – Subcommittee Meeting
(generally planned for every other month)
Month 12 – Two Cluster Style Town Land Use Charrettes
Month 14 – General Public Input or Information Meeting
Month 16 – Public Open House
Month 17 – Planning & Zoning Committee Adoption Meeting
Month 18 – County Board Adoption Meeting
